Dr Rahwa Kidane
Dr. Rahwa completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension from Haramaya University, Ethiopia. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Development from Copenhagen University and a PhD in Environmental Studies from the University of Adelaide. Before joining GGA-EA, Rahwa has worked in academia and as a consultant for local and international development projects in Ethiopia. Her research focuses on rural-urban migration, natural resource management, land tenure issues, climate change risk perception, vulnerability assessment, and adaptation policy and practice in developing countries. Dr. Rahwa is particularly interested in understanding the complex challenges faced by smallholder farmers and finding solutions to them. At GGA-EA, Rahwa’s tasks include designing and implementing project initiatives, monitoring and evaluation of projects, and engaging in advocacy and lobbying activities.
